That would make the currently-scheduled 18th September start date for the ride completely impracticable.
I'm loath to contemplate deferring the ride until 2022 so must contemplate an alternative start date in either October or November. I've checked the weather records (see below) and wouldn't want to hit the road any later than 6th November. For me, that would represent conditions a little more demanding than winter here in Brisbane - which I think I could just about tolerate. Does this rule anyone's participation out of the question, for whatever reason?
Beside checking official weather records for Nashville and Savannah, I also consulted the oracle. If I may paraphrase Bruce's response, it went something like this:
"November here is very unpredictable. It can be glorious. I've done at least one ride from Nashville to Cullman during the 3rd week of November in 70 degree sunny weather. The Fogbees have done several Red Boiling Springs rides the last weekend in October with the last three being in a cold rain. The problem with a bad stretch in November is it lasts for days and is always cold enough to make rain miserable
"Some will for sure want to be sporting their ebikes; otherswill be on extremely low powered bikes and may wind up doing the lion's share of the sag driving."
More information as it comes to hand - maybe early in June.
