FINAL RECONCILIATION

Plan with great detail; execute with great flexibility

We are not sure who invented the above moral, but it has been every FOGBEE practice. It was more the circumstances with Bob's H2O, starting with Bob not joining his tour. Here are the changes entered into this BLOG:

  • Replace Centre Ride with Weaver Ride.
  • Cancel Smyrna Extended Stay America
  • Smyrna with Rest Day moved to Lithonia Super 8 (van drive)
  • Cancel Lithonia Motel on Evans Mill
  • Move motels forward one day: Madison, Milledgeville (new), Dublin, Vidalia, Hinesville, Garden City
  • Revised bike route from Weaver to Cedartown
  • Revised bike routes from Lithonia, Madison, Milledgeville
  • Revised bike route to Garden City
  • Revised credit card payment schedule at motels

LIFE 360 and Meet at Publix

From: Bruce Sent: May 17, 2022

Expect an invitation to join the Fogbee tours Life 360 phone tracker app. On it we can see all our riders, assuming we have cell service. Instructions will come with the invitation.

Also we plan to start Saturday AM by 10 AM from the new Publix complex in Gallatin at the Airport Road/109 intersection.
It may depend on weather. Current forecast is for scattered afternoon thunderstorms.

The Hendersonville contingent will be in Ross's van. Tim, I'm hoping you can meet us there but if you need other arrangements let me know.

"Screaming" Downhill

One late addition, not documented elsewhere, is the option to take a very fast descent into Scottsboro. Tom has done it, liked it, and was bummed it was not the planned route. I don't like going over 25 mph, which one would definitely do on the downhill, but in deference to more daring riders, have planned an option on Ride with gps. It bypasses the final regrouping, there'd be no stopping on the downhill anyway.

Screaming downhill into Scottsboro option. Put this in your gps if you plan to do it.

Suggestions from Tom

Here is the elevation profile for the two downhills: Bob's and Bruce's "Screaming." Guess. You'd be wrong.

SUPER SAG WAGON

Tom & Bruce:

Got a bike rack on both back and front of van. 2 bench seats and the 2 captain seats up front will transport 6 with ample room. Has been serviced and supposed to be ready to roll. Have a YETI cooler in the back for ice.

SAG SELECTIONS

SAG is shared each day by three riders: two before lunch and Ross for every drive after lunch. The SAG selections are alphabetically. Each rider is responsible to COVER that assignment, not necessarily drive it. He can swap for any other rider to drive his assigned SAG or pickup additional SAGs if necessary.

The SAG sectors are based (mostly) on Bob's initial plan. Bruce and I had to change some of them when we had to change motels. Complete Plan, Sector Plan, SAG Plan
